LAYING IT BARE
Escapade Theatre was founded by Sue Flack and Caspar in 1997, in Barcelona. Our aim is to produce top quality, professional theatre, which entertains, provokes and at the same time lays bare the pitiful state of the human condition, all with a dose of the satire and dark humour so customary of the British.
Our productions may be in English, Spanish, Catalan or German gibberish. They may take the form of a classic Russian tale commenting on the sycophantism within politics (The Government Inspector) a cutting criticism of the British class system (Decadence), a black comedy about the pitfalls of old age (Dinner for One) or a modern take on the Brechtian lehrstuck about crime (Mack the Knife).
Our plays are classic or modern, comedies or tragicomedies, with a cast of thousands or just two, but they all have one thing in common: they won't leave an audience indifferent.
All productions have been performed in Spain to international audiences and have received critical acclaim. The company is based in Catalonia.
